Role Overview

Our company needs an API Test Engineer who has deep knowledge of API testing using Postman. The person in this role will carry out the testing of RESTful APIs and be responsible for ensuring that the applications communicate accurate data, perform fast, and are reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Create and run API test scripts in Postman.
Check the validity of the RESTful APIs, including the request and response payloads, headers, and status codes.
Perform functional, integration, and regression test cycles on APIs
Use Postman collections, environments, and scripts to automate API testing.
Interpret test results, determine faults, and coordinate with the team of developers.
Comply with the set standards of API quality, performance, and security.
Keep API test records and evidence up-to-date.

Required Skills & Experience

4-9 years of experience in API testing/software testing. Excellent postman skills. Good knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, the HTTP methods, and status codes. Postman scripting (JavaScript) for API automation is a must. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines would be an advantage. Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Swagger, Newman, or JMeter. A good understanding of database validation and backend testing Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
